Mrs. Way will be missed

Many of you may have received an email or heard that Mrs. Way will not be returning to GFA next year.  We will all miss her and wish her the best on her new adventures in teaching at another school.

This blog will be deleted in a couple weeks.  If you would like to keep in contact with Mrs. Way, her email address is: yana.way.laughing@gmail.com

For the rest of us returning to GFA, we'll see you in a few more weeks.

Website no longer being updated

As you can see, the website is no longer being updated weekly with homework information.  If you need copies of homework to make up, please contact Mrs. Way directly.

If you use this site and would like weekly updates posted regarding weekly newsletters and information, please email Tracy Weldon at tweldon@readytek.net.  We have not seen much interest in the site, so it will not be maintained unless we hear back from you.

Thank you and we look forward to a great end of the year.

Happy New Year

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday break.  Unfortunately Mrs. Way has not started off the year on a healthy note and has been off sick these first few days of school.  We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to have her back to school soon.  I know the students miss her as well.

Have a Happy New Year and we will have more updates soon.

Welcome our new Room Parent & Holiday Party Information

Welcome Sarah Buttars for volunteering as Room Parent for the remainder of the year!  We are so happy you have stepped up for this position and as you have already been experiencing, many parents are ready and willing to support you.

Please note: We've updated our Party Time

HOLIDAY PARTY:
Day:  Friday, December 16th
Time: 10:30 to 1:30 (when school lets out for the Holiday Break)
Where: Mrs. Way's classroom

Mrs. Buttars is so thankful for all the volunteers helping to make our Holiday Party fun and memorable.  She has been overwhelmed by all the responses and has contacted each of the parents to inform them of what help/donations she will need.  Because of the overwhelming volunteers, parents are welcome to come to the party, but we have more than enough helpers so don't feel obligated if you can't make it.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Buttars from the information sent home with your student or comment on this post and we will make sure she gets the response.

Mrs. Way has not been feeling well, so we apologize that there will not be a newsletter this week.  We will try to update the website with homework later in the week.

Thank you.

Week of November 28th, 2011

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  This week, a review sheet about Egypt will be sent home for our test on Friday.  We will continue our study on the human body with the circulatory system and begin learning about the nervous system.

We will also begin our in depth study of numbers to 20 using the number bonds system.  If you would like a better understanding of how number bonds are used and the terminology to use with your child, please let me know and I can put together a study after school if we have enough interested parents.

Week of November 14th, 2011

Who is King Tutenkhamen and Pharoah Hatshepsut?  What about internal body systems and ordinal numbers?  These are just a few things to ask your children this week.  Let them amaze you with what they are learning.
